HYGEIA (or Hygieia) was the daughter of Asclepius and Goddess of good health for body and soul, prevention of sickness and rehabilitation, using sanitation, nutrition, massage, meditation and beauty culture.
Her symbol, a bowl, became the symbol of pharmacists, often combined with a snake as a symbol of wisdom and medicine. About her, Greek Poet Ariphron said: “Without you no man is happy“.
